Skin Tone:

An ideal trainer for basic and advanced learning, the NEW Standard Venipuncture Arm utilizes unique skin-locking and modular vein systems to accurately simulate venipuncture, IV cannulation, and IV infusion training.

Our skin locking feature (patent pending) ensures the model is easy to re-skin whilst maintaining the lifelike palpability and haptics of the underlying basilic, cephalic, dorsal metacarpal and median cubital veins. Precisely mirroring a male right arm, the model effectively simulates real-life venipuncture occurrences, including blood flashback and the use of digital pressure to stem flow. The realistic arm skin and a new innovative vein gripping mechanism work in unison to further enhance realistic and repeatable training, whilst a cost-effective modular vein system promotes ease of use and reduces waste.

A robust Gravity System Blood Supply allows for efficient learning in a classroom environment.

Take a look at how easy it is to re-skin and re-vein our IV arms. (Limbs & Things YouTube channel, runtime 1m 10s.)

  • Cost-effective vein modules reduce waste and are easy to replace
  • Realistic and palpable vein haptics promote accurate clinical use
  • Easy-to-fit skin-locking system (patent pending) increases anatomical realism
  • New vein gripping feature facilitates correct vein positioning, repeatable training and an easier re-skinning and re-veining process
  • Robust and reliable gravity blood supply is easy to set up and clean
  • Infusion tube allows for IV fluids to be administered
  • Can be used in conjunction with a simulated patient

  • Realistic representation of the antecubital fossa (ACF) and metacarpal vein regions
  • Provides realistic blood flashback
  • Increased realism of the arm (look and feel)
  • Gripping system provides true-to-life vein placement

  • Compatible with vacuum blood collection systems, needle & syringe, and IV cannulas
  • Durable skin
  • Extended tubing allows for extra maneuverability in a classroom setting for use with a simulated patient
  • Veins can withstand up to 500 stabs from a 21g needle
  • Arm can be upgraded through purchase of the Advanced Pressurized Pump

  • Skin surface washable using soap and water
  • Veins are easy to replace, clean, service and maintain

  • Veins contain latex

Undergraduate Medicine

Outcomes for graduates (Tomorrow's Doctors), Appendix 1 - Practical procedures for Graduates, p.12-14: 4. Venipuncture. Inserting a needle into a patient's vein to take a sample of blood for testing, or to give an injection into the vein. 17. Establishing a peripheral intravenous access and setting up an infusion; use of infusion devices. Puncturing a patient's vein in order to insert an indwelling plastic tube (known as a cannula), to allow fluids to be infused into the vein (a drip). Connecting the tube to a source of fluid. Appropriate choice of fluids and their doses. Correct use of electronic devices which drive and regulate the rate of fluid administration.
