Limbs & Things Welcomes Adam Lawrence OBE as new CEO

As Limbs & Things enters an exciting new chapter of growth and innovation, we're delighted to welcome Adam Lawrence OBE as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Adam Lawrence wasn’t looking for a new role when Limbs & Things caught his attention. Now, after his first quarter as CEO, he reflects on what first drew him to the company, as well as what excites him most for the future ahead.

What first drew you to Limbs & Things?

“For me, it was a combination of what Limbs & Things is and what it does for others.

Seeing Limbs & Things simulation used by healthcare educators and clinicians around the world is a real reflection of the role it plays in supporting training and improving patient care across different healthcare settings.

I was thoroughly impressed by the manufacturing capabilities and the investment in in-house production and engineering teams to deliver quality simulation. Behind these operations is also an outstanding Research & Development team that continually explores new ideas and pushes the boundaries of simulation training.

Before I found Limbs & Things, I wasn’t looking for another employment opportunity, but I found I was so intrigued by the work here, it became an offer I couldn’t refuse.”

What have you learned so far?

“There’s no doubt that Limbs & Things is a great business, driven by a lot of really good people who care deeply about the work they do.

In my first few weeks, I’ve seen there’s lots of potential in these individuals that, when given the right opportunities, can transform this company into one of the best. My role here is to encourage and support these individuals to take on these opportunities and achieve their fullest potential.”

How do you like to recharge outside of work?

“I’m driven by what I enjoy and find interesting. In school, I grew up playing guitar in a band, and although I don’t play as much anymore, I still like to pick up the guitar now and again. It sparked my love of rock and heavy metal music – which may come as a surprise!

I also love food, and cooking really helps me relax & unwind at the end of the day. Right now, my go to recipe is a carbonara – the classic way, of course, with no cream.”

Lastly, what excites you most about what's ahead at Limbs & Things?

“I can’t wait to see how people will develop alongside Limbs & Things as we continue to grow. A growing business creates new opportunities, and it’s important that we give our people the support to take on new challenges. As we grow, our customers’ needs continue to evolve too. By listening to our customers and understanding the challenges they face, we can continue to develop solutions that help them meet the changing demands of healthcare training.”
