The cost effective Episiotomy Trainer is designed for classroom training and aids in building confidence performing episiotomies.
Trainees can use the Limbs & Things’ Episiotomy Trainer to practice widening the vaginal opening, using safe practices to protect the infant’s head as it crowns. Episiotomies may be necessary in several birthing scenarios, including:
- Foetal distress
- Forcep or ventouse suction deliveries
- Breech births
- Prolonged labour
- Hastening delivery due to the mother’s health
- Reduce the chance of severe perineal tears (fourth degree tears)
Combining the pad design and presenting foetal head, gives repeatable episiotomy training. With rotatable Episiotomy Pads and repairs with the included tape between procedures, the life span of the pads can be doubled.

A previous version of the episiotomy simulator included silicone Episiotomy Pads, how do the current pads differ?
The updated foam formula excludes latex and offers increased durability to extend the life of each pad. This new construction means less waste and greater value for money.
We have already purchased trainers in the Episiotomy & Perineal Repair Range, do we need to purchase the Episiotomy Trainer to practice episiotomy procedures?
All trainers in this range utilise the same Stand, with the correct additional parts, you can perform an episiotomy with your existing trainer. You can purchase the Episiotomy Module in a Light Skin Tone or Dark Skin Tone and combine with your existing Perineal Stand.
How many uses can I get from each pad?
The circular design of the pad allows for three separate incisions. For mediolateral episiotomies the pad can then be flipped to allow for a further three cuts, providing up to six uses per pad. For maximum cost effectiveness, incisions repaired with the included tape can be incised again.
