TruCorp’s AirSim Pierre Robin X manikin provides an advanced training solution for emergency airway management in pediatric patients with Pierre Robin Sequence.
Developed in collaboration with clinicians from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, this model is an accurate representation of a 6-month-old pediatric patient with Pierre Robin Sequence. The smaller lower jaw pushes the tongue further back in the mouth causing additional difficulty when intubation is required.
Using actual CT DICOM scan data from infants with PRS, this model accurately represents the congenital defects associated with the sequence, including:
- Significant mandibular hypoplasia or micrognathia (small lower jaw)
- Glossoptosis (displacement of the tongue)
- Cleft palate (gap in the roof of the mouth)
- Bifid uvula (forked or split uvula)
Overview
- Ideal for anaesthesiologists, educators and medical device manufacturers

How does the AirSim Pierre Robin X airway management trainer differ from the other Trucorp manikins?
This infant manikin has been designed to support training of difficult airway management in cases of Pierre Robin Sequence (also know as Pierre Robin Malformation).
The rare congenital birth defects associated with PRS increase the challenges of intubation in infants, and are characterized by underdeveloped jaws, backward displacement of the tongue and upper airway obstruction. This model features: Significant mandibular hypoplasia, micrognathia, glossoptosis, cleft palate and bifid uvula.
