The Ostomy Training Pouch facilitates the practice and familiarization of pouching techniques for health care staff and patients and their families. The trainer allows for training in a number of scenarios with the aim of maintaining healthy skin, developing improved hand-eye coordination and lessening pre-operative anxiety.
With this realistic trainer, patients will be able to practice pouching using four different stomas, in four different locations, as well as being educated on complications, bagging and general care.
Overview
Patients can practice using four different stomas: - Urostomy with stents - Loop stoma (patient must provide the bridge) - End stoma - Flush stoma
Each stoma can have simulated stool or urine output and can be placed in four locations: - Contact dermatitis - Standard healthy skin - Flush placement with folds and mucocutaneous separation - Candidiasis
Realism
Realistic, life-sized model
Each stoma can have simulate urine or still discharge to further enhance the realism
Versatility
Completely reversible and rotatable
Velcro waist straps allow trainer to be used with a simulated patient for added realism
