Basic Surgical Skills (BSS) Day 1 Refill
The Basic Surgical Skills Day 1 Refill contains the replacement soft tissues for the BSS Day 1 Kit. They have been designed for the practice of Basic surgical skills, specifically for the official Basic Surgical Skills Course. BSS has been developed in close collaboration with Leading medical professionals involved in the BSS Course development.
The BSS Day 1 Refill contains the following:
BSS Lesion & Cyst - for the practice of skin lesion removal, local anaesthesia, and biopsy techniques
Double Layer Bowel - for realistic bowel simulation and training in relevant anastomosis surgical techniques.
Skin Pad - composed of an epidermis, dermis and subdermal layer and has a similar drag and strength to human skin. All layers have a realistic retention of sutures.
Haemostasis Pad - realistically mimics a tissue dissection containing a fluid-filled vessel. Allows trainees to practice the transfixion suture technique and test the integrity of a ligation knot.
