TruBaby X
The TruCorp TruBaby X is an anatomically correct, ultrasound-compatible simulation trainer that facilitates a well-rounded paediatric learning experience. Ideal for anaesthetists, nurses and other paediatric emergency medical professionals, the TruBaby X possesses the appearance, weight, size and movement of a 50th percentile 5-month-old infant.
Equipped with a host of defining features, the TruBaby X allows for paediatric training in airway management, lumbar puncture, PICC line insertion, chest drain, CPR, peripheral venous cannulation, IO tibia, and urethral catheterisation using both male and female genitalia.
Overview
- Features interchangeable male and female genitalia modules
- Includes interchangeable legs, ultrasoundable arms, IO inserts, needle decompression inserts, lumbar puncture inserts and chest drain inserts
- Internal fluid flow provides realistic blood flashback during IV cannulation and PICC line insertion
- Palpable vertebrae landmarks including the iliac crest
- Facilitates ultrasound guided PICC line insertion, including guidewire, dilation and full cannulation
Airway Management
- Includes AirSim X Airway
- Double naso-tracheal intubation
- Endotracheal tube insertion with chest rise
- Bag-valve mask ventilation techniques
- Full range of supraglottic device insertion
- Direct and video laryngoscopy
Lumbar Puncture
- Lumbar puncture can be practiced at L3-L4 and L4-L5 spine locations
- Accurate needle placement allows for positive response and the collection of simulated cerebrospinal fluid
PICC Line Insertion
- Enables peripherally inserted catheterization either through the basilic, brachial or cephalic veins
- Manual activation of venous blood flow allows fluids to be withdrawn and administered, providing realistic blood flashback
- Optional ultrasoundable arms facilitate ultrasound guided IV and PICC line insertion
- Self-healing and regenerating ultrasoundable TruUltra material
Needle Thoracentesis for Tension Pneumothorax
- Audible hiss when the needle is successfully inserted
Chest Drain (Air only)
- Palpable landmarks in the 5th intercostal space mid auxiliary line
- Facilitates either the Seldinger chest drain insertion technique or the needle thoracentesis approach for the treatment of a pneumothorax
IO Tibia
- Features the tibial tuberosity and patella anatomy which provides a platform to identify the proximal tibia intraosseous insertion site
- Each IO insert is delivered with pre-filled fluid
Urethral Catheterisation
- A 5-8F catheter can be inserted into the urethra and into the bladder
- Upon successful entry, fluid will flow from the catheter
Realism
- Features the realistic and durable AirSim X Airway
- Product is able to imitate lifelike movement, including head tilt, chin lift and jaw thrust
- Anatomy within the arm illustrates two visible embedded vessels when using ultrasound
- Real feel vascular 'tenting' upon entry to vessels
- True-to-life rib structure includes xiphoid process, sternum and clavicle
- Realistic resistance when penetrating the medullary cavity for IO tibia
- Accurate anatomy to practise and learn the techniques of catheterisation
Versatility
- Initial set-up time is less than 5 minutes
- Cost-effective replacement parts
- 5-year warranty on Airsim X Ariway
- Includes a durable carry case for easy transportation and safe storage
Cleaning
- Cleaning instructions can be found in the product user-guide
Anatomy
- Contains the dorsal venous arch, cephalic vein, basilic vein and great and lesser saphenous veins, allowing needle cannulation at various locations in the hands, arms and feet
- Realistic rib structure
- Palpable landmarks in the 2nd intercostal space mid-clavicular line and the 5th intercostal space mid-auxiliary line
- Features the tibial tuberosity and patella anatomy
- Appearance, size, weight and movement of a 50th Percentile 5-month-old infant
