After the highly successful launch of the updated PROMPT Flex Standard and Bluetooth in 2015, the Limbs & Things R&D Team have developed further functionality for the system, with the launch of the C-Section Module in May 2016.

The PROMPT Birthing Simulator has been a flagship product for Limbs & Things since its inception. Created by working with dedicated clinicians, the design has led the way to improving birthing outcomes within simulated training programmes around the globe.

The move to PROMPT Flex in 2015, as the name suggests offers more flexibility in the trainer, combining the next generation of features and enhancements, delivering the most adaptable birthing task trainer yet.

With improved anatomy and durability the PROMPT Flex has not only greater functionality, but also the ability to include additional modules such as the new Cesarean Section.

The new module is made up of two different elements. The first consists of an anatomically correct, replaceable surgical pad containing 8 layers, plus the female bladder. This part of the module aids highly realistic training in transverse incisions (both Pfannenstiel and Joel-Cohen), and allows for the layers to be sutured as well as in-situ repair of the uterine wall.

The second element of the module has been designed to allow for easy, repetitive practice of numerous delivery management scenarios, including delivering a difficult baby with an impacted head or a transverse lie, with the use of a pre-incised delivery skin.

The C-Section module fits both on the Standard PROMPT Flex and the Blue Tooth Force Monitoring models.

“The launch of the new C-Section module is an exciting development in the modular functionality of our products. Our aim is to always create high levels of anatomically correct products, and with the two differing elements of the C-Section model we have achieved our aim”

Peter D'Alessandro, R&D Manager

The C-Section module is available to buy via the Limbs & Things Website or directly with the offices in UK, US and Australia.
