QA Manager

Directly line managing the quality staff, the QA Manager will ensure that a comprehensive and effective Quality Management System drives a safe and first-class quality culture, customer satisfaction and high operational performance. The QA Manager will be as comfortable working with the senior leadership team in developing organisational processes as on the shop floor solving day-to-day issues.

· Development, improve and control of the Quality Management System, ‘QMS’, ensuring its compliance throughout the organisation (and maintaining accreditations should they become applicable)

· Directly line manage, recruit, motivate and train the quality team; oversee their daily and weekly workflow

· Promote safety and quality awareness in the wider organisation and train, motivate, coach and correct employees to ensure standards and processes are met

· Ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory needs of the business relating to standards certification and compliance; maintain a register for same

· Advise the Senior Leadership Team, ‘SLT’, on legislative and regulatory updates and implications

· Work closely with other departments to ensure the appropriate processes and procedures are in place, including test and control procedures for product conformance; ensure that those procedures are capable and are adhered to

· Management of all quality control, case (complaint) management and trend analyses, root cause analyses

· Working with the Product Management Department to ensure First Article Inspections (FAI, demo and final) are effective.

· Maintenance of an effective internal audit schedule and prepare for and facilitate external audits

· Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders to actively resolve problems

· Generate a quality and continuous improvement focussed culture

· Perform other duties as required

· Minimum 10 years’ experience working as a Quality Assurance Manager in a manufacturing organisation that also has engineering and/or design and/or R&D functions

· Direct line management responsibility of a quality team

· Excellent communication, coaching and training skills

· Extensive knowledge of ISO9001 (2015) and experience of implementing and developing within a compliant QMS

· Degree qualified, preferably in a technical discipline

· Audit qualification and experience

· Competent Microsoft Office user and previous exposure to ERP systems

· Capable in data analysis, drawing conclusions and delivering improvement

· Knowledge of six sigma and lean management methodologies

· Positive approach with a hard working, practical, hands-on attitude
