This model has been designed to practice the placement of synthetic pubourethral slings for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence. It works with all major sling systems excluding trans-obturator.
Skills
- Patient posture and management
- Identifying anatomical landmarks
- Insertion of sling introducers/needles transvaginally and abdominally
- Use of guide systems and rigid catheter
- "D" cut out viewing port, light and mirror to allow the user to visualize the insertion of the device during the procedure
- Fascia held under tension which provides a highly realistic level of resistance to the introducers/needles
- Realistic abdominal wall
- Soft perineum and labia
- Realistic urethra and bladder
- Representation of iliac arteries and veins to demonstrate the location of anatomical landmarks and potential pitfalls
- Representation of intestines to provide greater realism and improve context
- Fascia and perineum/vaginal assembly can be replaced making the model highly cost effective
- Skin surface is washable using soap and water
