Q: I have a Value Set 80010. How can I tell my Force Monitoring from my non-Force Monitoring Baby? A: The Force Monitoring Baby has a red band and serial number on the connection end of its umbilical cord; the Standard Baby has a green band only.

Q: Why does the Placenta have an electrical connector? A: No electrics are to be found in the Placenta. Quite simply, a common connector has been used here to provide customers who have a Force Monitoring Baby with the option of using the Placenta if required.

Q: Can I use other lubricants with this product? A: No. Only use Limbs & Things proprietary Birthing Lubricant Part No: 50181; other lubricants may damage the product.

Q: The mother's Perineum has torn - what should I do? A: Replace by ordering the following component - Birthing Abdomen & Perineum Skin Pt No. 80024. The product comes with 1 year warranty, so if this component has torn under normal use within the first year of purchase please contact us to organise a replacement. To remove and replace this component please refer to the User Guide manual pages 24 & 25.

Q: I've lost my product instructions - how can I replace them? A: A copy of the User Guide can be viewed and printed from the support website.

Q: How do I clean the Mother and Baby after use? A: When you have finished with the Simulator, remove any lubricant from the Mother and Baby using the supplied baby wipes.

Q: Can I bath the Baby? A: No. Water may get inside the joints and prevent the baby from articulating properly. If you own a Force Monitoring Baby water will damage the strain gauge inside the Baby.

Q: The umbilical cord has pulled out of the base of the Placenta what should I do? A: Replace by ordering the following component - Birthing Placenta Pt No. 80023. The product comes with 1 year's warranty, so if this component has failed within the first year of purchase under normal use please contact customer service to organise a replacement. To remove and replace this component please refer to the User Guide pages 24 & 25.

Q: A limb of the Baby has pulled off, what should I do to fix it? A: If the limbs have come away from their joints or are damaged in any way (ripped or torn) you will need to get the baby serviced, please contact us for further information.

Q: When conducting a shoulder dystocia drill the shoulder on the Baby does not stay behind the symphysis pubis, why is this? A: The Baby is designed to be manually held in position by the trainer (teacher). Ensure that the anterior shoulder of the Baby is wedged behind the symphysis pubis, and then held in this position. See page 17 in the User Guide.

Q: It is difficult to use forceps are there any tips to set up the simulator to improve this? A: Follow these steps - 1. Load the Baby in to the pelvis in the position required for teaching. 2. Reattach the Abdomen & Perineal Skin on Mother. 3. The trainer (teacher) needs to gently hold the first blade of the forceps in place from within the pelvis until the second blade has been applied and the forceps have been locked together. See page 18 & 19 in the User Guide.

Q: The Mother moves around a lot when deliveries are conducted am I doing anything wrong? A: Ensure that the Mother unit is first attached to its white support base, and then secured to the work surface or delivery bed by using the securing straps on the base. The quick setup guide which accompanies this product covers this in detail.

Q: The Baby sticks when in the Mother - (it is too hard to deliver) how can I improve this? A: Use the Birthing Lubricant provided, Pt No. 50181. The application of lubricant varies depending on the type of delivery conducted, i.e. breech, shoulder dystocia, etc. Refer to the relevant section in the User Guide for appropriate use. Shake the bottle of lubricant well before use.

Q: When using a vacuum device on the Baby's head it slips off is there any way to easily rectify this problem? A: Quite simply, don't use any lubricant on the Baby's head when conducting this kind of delivery. Lubricate the perineal muscles on the Mother only.
