Kambia Link voluntary teaching visit to Sierra Leone

Posted: 04-26-2010

Limbs & Things were very happy to donate a variety of our surgical skills equipment to the recent Kambia Link voluntary teaching visit to Sierra Leone.

There were around 30 delegates in all consisting of 10 doctors from the capital Freetown, and around 20 Community Health Officers (CHO's), both qualified and trainees, as well as nursing staff.

The variety of surgical skills equipment that Limbs & Things donated allowed delegates to experience skin suturing, bowel anastomosis, arterial anastomosis, intestinal anastomosis, cannulation cutdown, and abdominal closure.

The visit was a huge success and the majority of attendees felt that the skills that they learnt in the practical workshops could be transferred to their work setting.
